How this started
I've built models since I was a kid, mostly with my dad, and I started an architecture degree that I never finished. I still love making real places small enough to hold.
The golf part came from a simulator. I was building courses for it out of the government's lidar survey, the same elevation data the state uses to map Florida, and realized I could print that ground instead of only rendering it.
I'm obsessed with detail and quality
Streamsong Blue 7 has a wooden footbridge out to the green. It isn't in any map data I could find, so I traced it by hand from aerial photos.
That's the standard. If it's on the hole, it belongs on the model. If it isn't, I don't add it to make the model look busier, and small things stay small so the scale reads true.
You see a proof before anything prints. If the data for your hole isn't good enough to do it right, you get a refund instead of a guess.
I printed a small version of myself, too.
Same printer and same filament as your model.
